As an Accounts Payable Specialist (m/f/d), you'll become the go-to expert for invoice processing, issue resolution and process excellence within a leading Shared Service Center setup.

• Workload: 50%, temporary assignment

About Our Client

Our client is a globally active pharmaceutical company headquartered in Basel, recognized for its pioneering research and its strong market position in the development of innovative healthcare solutions. Through its international finance shared service organization, the company ensures efficient, compliant and future-oriented financial operations across multiple markets. We're currently looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist (m/f/d) to strengthen this team.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely handling of documents, including validating and processing invoices, credit notes and down payments
• Investigate and resolve invoices affected by price or quantity discrepancies, including recovering debit balances and clearing unapplied cash
• Monitor the Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt process and ensure the GRIR account is cleared in a timely manner
• Act as a responsive, service-oriented point of contact for internal stakeholder queries and issues
• Collaborate proactively across functional teams to uphold sound accounting and financial reporting practices
• Contribute to month-end closing activities
• Support or drive initiatives that align Procure-to-Pay processes with global standards
• Challenge existing procedures with fact-based recommendations and help maintain compliance with internal accounting manuals, financial control frameworks and regulatory requirements (including SOX 404), through control maintenance, reconciliations and documentation

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or a comparable field
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally within a Shared Service Center environment
• Fluent in English, with strong written and spoken skills in French or German
• Solid working knowledge of SAP (FI/MM)
• Hands-on experience with invoice processing, ERP systems and workflow management tools
• Good understanding of Accounts Payable, procurement and supply chain processes
• Confident in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with a proactive sense of urgency
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
