About the job
The funeral services, cemeteries and crematorium of the City of Geneva (SPF) have the primary mission of providing, with dignity, funerals, burials and cremations for persons deceased within the territory of the City, the canton of Geneva, as well as any person deceased in Switzerland or abroad. It assists bereaved families and manages cemeteries and funeral facilities made available.
To strengthen the team of funeral centres we are looking for a
Funeral Agent 100%
Your mission
- Ensure the first contact with families during home body removals.
- Carry out the necessary analyses to guarantee the safe handling of deceased persons.
- Provide care to the body and prepare the deceased for presentation in mortuary rooms according to the family’s wishes.
- Accompany the family and participants during transfers for ceremonies and/or to the cemetery, occasionally coordinating the various stages for the designated team.
- Ensure various administrative document follow-ups.
- Collaborate in all cleaning and maintenance work of facilities and vehicles.
- Cover shifts and on-call duties at weekends and public holidays, according to a pre-established rota.
Your profile:
- Technical CFC or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in the funeral sector preferred.
- Excellent health and no restrictions on lifting loads.
- Good organisational skills and initiative.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Good interpersonal skills, listening and empathy.
- Ability to cope with emotionally demanding situations.
- Proficiency in common computer software (Microsoft Office).
- Fluency in French, both spoken and written.
- Possession of a valid driving licence.
You reside in the canton of Geneva or in the authorised residential area.
