About the job

Casa Sant’Agnese is a small, family-run house with eight sisters, open to guests. It is located above Muralto / Locarno. It is an external site of the Ingenbohl Monastery and part of an international community of sisters. With great commitment and high attentiveness, the housekeeping team ensures the well-being of the nuns as well as the guests in this special, peaceful environment. To complement our team, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for a responsible, independent and motivated person as:

Tasks

• Preparation of varied dishes in the hot and cold kitchen for our small community of sisters as well as guests
• Proper preparation and production of special diets and dietary requirements
• Creating balanced menu plans
• Prudent purchasing (ecological and economical) of all food and non-food items used in the kitchen
• Goods receipt: Checking delivery quantities and quality, HACCP guidelines, temperatures, weights and appropriate correct storage
• Control of stock levels
• Cleaning and maintenance of the entire kitchen area taking into account safety and hygiene regulations as well as cleaning schedules
• Guiding and supporting the second cook in all kitchen matters

Expectations

• Several years of experience in the kitchen as a cook or equivalent training/education
• Openness, teamwork, reliability and trustworthiness
• Joy and understanding in dealing with the nuns, as you will be working in their home
• Good knowledge of Italian and German
• Clean and precise working method
• Flexibility and willingness to work split shifts and at weekends
