The University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel are one of the leading psychiatric clinics in Switzerland. Our goal is the continuous improvement of the treatment of our patients to achieve their best possible quality of life. The UPK treat people of all ages, from children to elderly patients. There are inpatient, day-patient and outpatient services. Over 1200 professionals from 42 nations work at UPK Basel. Various educational offers broaden your horizons.At UPK you can complete the training as a Health Specialist regularly in 3 years or shortened in 2 years for Health and Social Assistants. We support the FaGe training with and without accompanying vocational baccalaureate.

Your tasks
- During the training you will learn in three different departments
- You will gain experience in an internship outside the UPK, for example in Spitex or in a nursing home
- In the profession of FaGe you learn to support people who are mentally and/or physically ill. You take on tasks in care and support as well as in medical technology
- You will work on tasks in the areas of daily life design, household management and administration and logistics.
Requirements
- Completed compulsory schooling (levels A, E and P are possible)
- You greatly enjoy dealing with different people
- You want to acquire a lot of knowledge about people and their health
- You are responsible and willing to reflect on your behaviour
- You face challenging situations openly

- You will be accompanied by vocational training professionals throughout the entire training
- You have five weeks of holiday and three additional days off per year. UPK pays for your teaching materials
- The UPK Basel campus is located in a beautiful old park and can be reached by tram and bus from the SBB station and the city centre in just 10 minutes
- After the FaGe basic education at secondary level II, you have access to further education at tertiary level. For example, you can complete nursing studies at a higher technical school or enter various bachelor degree programmes with the vocational baccalaureate.
