Head of Civil Engineering Execution (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced leader as Head of Civil Engineering Execution for the operational management of a broadly diversified civil engineering division. You will lead the technical and project managers and ensure the economic as well as technically flawless execution of demanding civil engineering, infrastructure and specialised civil engineering projects from order receipt to project completion. You will be responsible for budget, costs, quality, occupational safety, resources and execution standards and support the project organisation with complex technical and commercial issues. The position combines comprehensive leadership and result responsibility with the further development of the business unit within an established Swiss construction company.

Responsibilities:

• Operational and technical management of the civil engineering division as well as leadership and development of the subordinate technical and project managers

• Overall control of the project execution from order receipt through work preparation and execution to project completion

• Leadership and support of division heads, site managers and project managers in demanding civil engineering projects

• Ensuring economic project execution with regard to costs, deadlines, quality and resources

• Responsibility for project budgets, cost control, forecasts and project controlling as well as initiating measures in case of deviations

• Monitoring of work preparation, site organisation, personnel deployment, machinery and resource planning within the civil engineering division

• Ensuring compliance with applicable requirements for occupational safety, quality, environment and execution standards

• Support with complex claims, contract issues, calculations and negotiations with clients and partner companies

• Coordination and further development of the various specialist areas in civil and infrastructure construction

• Maintaining collaboration with clients, authorities, engineering offices, suppliers and other stakeholders

• Further development and standardisation of processes, key figures and digital project management tools

• Participation in capacity, investment and resource planning as well as in the strategic development of the civil engineering division

Qualifications:

• Further education as federally certified master builder, construction foreman HF with business management training or degree as civil engineer FH/ETH

• Several years of leadership experience as well as solid practical experience in civil, infrastructure and general civil engineering

• Proven experience in managing complex construction projects and larger project organisations

• Sound knowledge in work preparation, project management, calculation, cost controlling and contract management

• Experience in the technical and personnel management of construction foremen and project managers

• Confident handling of ERP systems and Microsoft 365; knowledge of Abacus is an advantage

• Fluent German skills in spoken and written form
