The University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel are one of the leading psychiatric clinics in Switzerland. Our goal is the continuous improvement of the treatment of our patients to achieve their best possible quality of life.

The Catering Department belongs to the Hospitality area and, with ten employees, is responsible as host for the staff restaurant mesa, the two catering areas of the private clinic, as well as for the organisation of events in the UPK premises.

• Provision of a high-quality hospitality service tailored to the needs of patients in both buildings of the private clinic
• Individual advice to our customers regarding menu selection and meal ordering
• Ensuring service preparations as well as professional and smooth service of breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining room
• Ensuring a high standard and seamless catering and service in our staff restaurant
• Organisation of events
• Ensuring cleanliness and impeccable hygiene conditions in the private clinic as well as in the restaurant (mesa)

What distinguishes you

• Completed catering vocational training (EFZ)
• or professional experience in a comparable position, preferably in hospitality and the healthcare service sector
• High customer and service orientation, excellent communication skills in German. French and English are an advantage as well as experience in direct customer contact
• Structured working method, process understanding, attention to detail
• High social competence, discretion and sense of responsibility
• Good manners and a well-groomed appearance
• Knowledge of common Office programmes
• Open-minded, flexible, independent and resilient personality
• Team player
