To complement our operating theatre positioning team, we are looking for an Operating Theatre Positioning Nurse from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement.
The newly opened operating department in 2022 comprises 8 operating theatres and 2 urological procedure rooms.
Your responsibilities
As a positioning nurse, you are an important part of our medical treatment team in the operating theatre. You are responsible for the correct and operation-specific positioning of patients before, during and after surgery. You work closely with the anaesthesia and operating teams to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.

Operating Theatre Positioning Nurse
The Cantonal Hospital Frauenfeld has a versatile and varied operating department. We perform approximately 9,000 inpatient and outpatient procedures annually in the fields of surgery, orthopaedics, traumatology, gynaecology and obstetrics, as well as urology, ENT, hand and plastic surgery.The newly opened operating department in 2022 comprises 8 operating theatres and 2 urological procedure rooms.
Your responsibilities
As a positioning nurse, you are an important part of our medical treatment team in the operating theatre. You are responsible for the correct and operation-specific positioning of patients before, during and after surgery. You work closely with the anaesthesia and operating teams to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.
- Preparation of operating tables for the individual positioning of patients
- Reception and preparation of patients in the operating theatre in collaboration with the anaesthesia or operating team
- Professional positioning of patients during surgery
- Support of the operating team in the general preparation of the operating theatre
- Provision, operation and maintenance of medical devices
- Entry of services provided on the PC
Your profile
- Professional experience as an operating theatre positioning nurse, preferably with a completed specialist course in operating theatre positioning. Alternatively, training as a FAGE (qualified nursing assistant) with an interest in working in the operating theatre. Career changers with professional experience in the operating theatre, nursing or a comparable medical environment are also welcome
- Strong team skills and high social competence
- Great reliability, responsible and careful working style
- Good physical condition, resilient and flexible
- Technical flair and dexterity
- Willingness to work shifts and weekends
- PC skills
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written (at least level B2)
- If suitable, the possibility to attend the specialist course in operating theatre positioning after a minimum of 6 months
