About the job
The University Clinic for Neurology is the largest neurological clinic in Switzerland and offers high-quality treatment both in basic neurological care and in highly specialised medicine (Stroke Centre, Movement Disorders Centre; Sleep-Wake Epilepsy Centre). Annually, over 30,000 outpatients and approximately 2,000 inpatients are treated. The University Clinic for Neurology provides a high level of interdisciplinarity with many interesting specialities such as the Stroke Centre, neurological emergency medicine, movement disorders including deep brain stimulation and high-intensity focused ultrasound, epilepsy with telemetry and epilepsy surgery assessments, neuroimmunology, muscle diseases, neuro-ophthalmology, as well as neurorehabilitation.
What to expect
- Work in the Neurological Emergency Department (including triage, acute diagnostics and management of acute neurological conditions)
- Neurological consultation service on normal and intensive care wards within Inselspital
- Participation in the certified Stroke Centre with thrombolysis and thrombectomy management
- Involvement in diagnostics in the neurovascular laboratory (including duplex sonography)
- Supervision and training of junior doctors as well as interprofessional collaboration
- Participation in on-call duties
What you bring
- Completed doctoral thesis
- Swiss FMH specialist title in Neurology or equivalent recognition
- Broad clinical experience in acute neurology, ideally in a centre hospital
- Certificate of competence or equivalent training in neurosonology; certificates/specialist training in neurological intensive care, EEG or ENMG are advantageous
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration as well as in academic university work
- Research and publication experience are advantageous
- Team spirit, resilience and a high sense of responsibility
- Very good German language skills in spoken and written form; French language skills are desirable
