A multi-skilled mechanic – 100% as an apprentice trainer (MSP)

The Specialized Vocational Training Centre (CFPS) Le Repuis (www.lerepuis.ch) is one of the main institutions in French-speaking Switzerland for training apprentices with cognitive, physical, psychological or behavioural difficulties. It welcomes around 370 young people each year from all over French-speaking Switzerland and is based in Grandson.

We are looking for

To support apprentices in the mechanical sector within CFPS Le Repuis. You will join a small team to ensure the training of apprentices according to the professional requirements of the sector, in close collaboration with the internal network.

The main tasks are:

• Training apprentices for a Federal VET Diploma (CFC), a Federal VET Certificate (AFP) or practical training, adapting methods and tools to their specific difficulties
• Providing support on practical, behavioural and social levels and contributing to theoretical learning
• Adjusting machines and monitoring production work
• Welcoming and assessing interns during their career orientation phase
• Writing reports on apprentice training for our clients
• Collaborating with various support measures offered (remedial courses, boarding and day school, psychologists and nurses, etc.) and participating in internal network meetings concerning young people in training

We require:

• Federal VET Diploma in micromechanics or multi-skilled mechanic essential
• Good knowledge of conventional and CNC machining
• Pedagogical training at ES/HES level or willingness to acquire it on the job
• Experience in apprentice training
• Several years of professional experience in the trade
• Personal maturity to handle complex situations with young people, capacity for introspection and perspective
• Ability to collaborate in a team as well as with various partners from different trades
• Professional experience in an educational or social context is an advantage
