Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project Manager Construction Cost Planning for demanding new build and refurbishment projects as well as total performance competitions in Swiss building construction. You will be responsible for projects from the strategy and concept phase through calculation and bid processing to implementation, ensuring the economic optimisation of construction projects. The focus is on construction cost planning, project strategy, calculation, variant studies, and bid management as well as the coordination of interdisciplinary project teams. The position is situated in a professional general and total contractor environment and combines project management with sound construction economic responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Taking over project management in construction cost planning for demanding new build, refurbishment, and development projects
Handling total performance competitions and GU/TU bids from strategic orientation to complete bid submission
Developing project, cost, and bid strategies in collaboration with internal departments and management
Creating and validating cost estimates, cost calculations, and project calculations across different planning phases
Analysing projects regarding cost risks, profitability, and optimisation potentials and deriving appropriate measures
Developing and evaluating project variants and value engineering solutions to optimise construction costs and feasibility
Coordinating and professionally managing architects, specialist planners, calculators, and other project participants during the bid and planning phase
Conducting quantity surveys, contractor inquiries, and bid comparisons as a basis for reliable project calculations
Preparing and coordinating complete bid and competition dossiers including cost, schedule, and project documentation
Ensuring structured cost, opportunity, and risk management during project development
Applying and further developing BKP/eBKP, NPK, cost indicators, and digital calculation methods
Accompanying projects during the transition from acquisition and calculation to planning and realisation and ensuring economic project targets
Qualifications:
Degree as Architect FH/ETH, certified project/construction manager in building construction or construction economist MAS FH AEC or comparable qualification
Several years of experience in calculation and construction cost planning of Swiss building projects
Sound knowledge in the GU/TU environment, ideally in bid projects or total performance competitions
Very good knowledge in construction cost planning, cost determination, variant comparison, and bid calculation
Knowledge of the Swiss cost and tendering systematics, especially BKP/eBKP, NPK, and relevant SIA standards
Experience in the professional leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams or corresponding project experience
Very good German skills; French skills are an advantage
