About the job
A position of
Legal Publishing Assistant at 40%
is to be filled within the external secretariat of the Faculty of Law at the University of Neuchâtel.
Your activities
The Faculty of Law at the University of Neuchâtel is seeking a person to ensure the preparation and monitoring of editorial projects within its external secretariat. Indeed, your main mission is to format the works published by the Faculty in accordance with the guidelines of its collections. You apply styles and typographical rules, harmonise the presentation of contributions, and ensure the formulation of legal expressions according to the defined editorial practices.
You manage editorial projects from their preparation to publication: communication with authors, planning of stages, proof monitoring, and coordination with external service providers. You carry out these activities autonomously, under the responsibility of the secretariat manager.
You produce various graphic creations such as book covers, seminar programmes, access maps, and other graphic materials related to the secretariat’s activities.
You ensure the layout of digital publications, notably monthly academic newsletters, and occasionally provide your support for the secretariat’s administrative tasks.
Your profile
With a background as a media technician or typographer, you have experience in publishing, preparing publications, or typography. You have an excellent command of the French language and pay particular attention to spelling and layout details.
You possess excellent skills in Word and are comfortable with digital tools. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is a significant advantage.
You know how to organise your work, maintain a production schedule, and coordinate exchanges with several contacts. Your autonomy, rigour, and sense of collaboration allow you to manage several editorial projects simultaneously until completion. Experience in the legal field is a real asset.
