Role:
As a Network & Virtualisation Engineer, you are responsible for virtualised server, network, and security environments from planning to stable operation. You administer VMware landscapes, network components, and firewall systems, resolve complex faults in advanced support, and ensure secure, high-performance IT operations through installations, migrations, and optimisations. Additionally, you bring a solid technical understanding of web technologies - not as a developer, but to analyse customer enquiries, narrow down errors, and precisely pass on requirements to development. With your structured, service-oriented working style, you keep an overview even in complex environments.
Responsibilities:
You are responsible for planning, implementing, and operating virtualised server, network, and security infrastructures
You administer VMware environments, network components, and firewall systems and ensure stable, secure systems
You analyse and resolve technical faults in 2nd and 3rd level support
You carry out installations, migrations, maintenance, and optimisations
Additionally, you use your technical understanding of web technologies to narrow down customer enquiries and pass requirements on to development in a structured manner
Qualifications:
You have sound knowledge of information technology and experience with modern IT systems
You have experience analysing and resolving technical problems as well as user support and convince with strong problem-solving and communication skills
You have practical experience in system and network administration including monitoring and security solutions
You are familiar with virtualisation (VMware) and Microsoft platforms; a completed IT education is an advantage
Ideally, you bring basic knowledge of web technologies (ASP.NET Core, C#, Angular), databases, API interfaces, or web applications; Linux and container knowledge is a plus
You work in a structured, independent, and team-oriented manner, show initiative, and communicate fluently in German and English
