Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as a Project / Construction Manager for the independent realisation of demanding and large-scale industrial and commercial buildings. You will accompany projects such as production and storage buildings, hall constructions and other specialised properties from tendering and awarding through construction execution to defect-free handover. As the central interface between the client, specialist planners, authorities and executing companies, you are particularly responsible for deadlines, costs, quality and technical implementation. A special focus is on modern construction methods and projects with a high proportion of timber and timber element construction.

Responsibilities:

• Independent project and construction management of demanding industrial, commercial and hall construction projects

• Responsibility for the professional, timely, cost- and quality-compliant implementation according to contracts for work, SIA standards and project-specific requirements

• Review and coordination of execution, detail and specialist planner plans regarding feasibility and interfaces

• Creation, control and ongoing updating of schedule and construction programmes including monitoring of critical project milestones

• Responsibility for operational site organisation and construction execution as well as coordination of the individual trades

• Leadership and management of subcontractors, partner companies and specialist planners during the realisation phase

• Coordination between client, authorities, specialist planners and executing companies as well as representation of the company towards the customer

• Participation in tendering, submission and awarding as well as control of contractually agreed contractor services

• Ongoing cost, schedule and quality controlling as well as early identification and management of technical and economic project risks

• Coordination of demanding interfaces in timber and timber element construction as well as with structural framework, building envelope and building services

• Ensuring relevant requirements for occupational safety, quality assurance and Swiss building standards

• Organisation of acceptances, defect management, building handover and project completion including complete project documentation

Qualifications:

• Basic construction training, for example bricklayer EFZ, carpenter EFZ or draughtsman EFZ, with appropriate further training

• Further training as construction manager, technician HF or project manager; qualification at HF/FH level is an advantage

• Several years of solid professional experience in project and/or construction management in Swiss building construction

• Experience in industrial, commercial, hall or timber construction, especially in timber element construction, is an advantage

• Comprehensive knowledge of SIA standards, Swiss building regulations and contract for work basics

• Sound practice in scheduling, cost control, quality management and contractor coordination

• German language skills at least level C1 as well as very good user skills in Microsoft Office
