About the job
The Schaffhausen Hospitals include the Cantonal Hospital, the Psychiatric Services, the Radiology and Cardiology Posthof Neuhausen practices, as well as the Neurology Practice Schaffhausen Centre. With over 1,700 employees, we ensure the extended medical and nursing basic care of the Schaffhausen region. Each year, we care for around 11,000 inpatients and 90,000 outpatients. In addition, we are an important training centre in the canton.
For the kitchen in the hospitality area, we are looking for an assistant cook starting 1 September 2026 or by arrangement, with a workload of 60-80%.
Every day, the staff of the main kitchen, located in the Cantonal Hospital, prepare around 1,600 meals for patients, employees, guests of the Schaffhausen Hospitals, the Psychiatric Centre, and other external customers. To manage this, well-considered menu planning, carefully coordinated processes, smooth organisation, and forward-looking procurement of foodstuffs are necessary.

- Professional preparation and presentation of dishes according to recipes
- Cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Compliance with the HACCP concept and occupational safety regulations
- Receipt and inspection of ordered goods
- Deployment at all kitchen stations
What You Bring to Us
- German at least level B2
- At least 5 years of professional experience in community catering
- High interest and enjoyment in the profession
- Independent and clean working style
- High quality awareness and knowledge of hygiene regulations in gastronomy
- Flexibility (shifts from 05:00), resilience and teamwork skills
