The Social Welfare Office of the Canton of Schaffhausen fulfils tasks in the areas of victim support, social assistance, services for adults with disabilities, residential child and youth services, violence prevention, protection against violence, and equality. Furthermore, the office carries out tasks on behalf of the federal government related to accommodation, support, integration promotion, and material assistance for persons from the asylum and refugee sector.

Social Advisor for Asylum and Refugee Support (m/f) 60-100 %
What to expect- Support and assistance for persons from the asylum and refugee sector in their linguistic, professional, and social integration
- Responsibility for case management as well as personal and financial social assistance according to cantonal guidelines
- Personal counselling and triage into needs-based services
- Provision of information from various areas of life
- Collaboration and networking with specialist agencies, authorities, volunteers, course providers, and other organisations
- Co-design and further development of the social counselling and integration area
What you bring
- University degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
- Professional experience in the area of financial social assistance as well as in supporting persons from the asylum and refugee sector
- Strong communication skills and precise oral and written expression
- Empathy, resilience, assertiveness, and ability to work in a team
- Enjoyment in engaging with people from diverse cultures
- Good user knowledge of MS Office and ideally the case management software Tutoris
