What awaits you.
We ensure the safety and availability of railway infrastructure by monitoring the condition of electrical installations (traction current, associated systems), civil engineering structures and access points. We take care of the necessary immediate and planned measures. Customer satisfaction is essential to us, so we provide lifecycle managers with data to improve the quality of installations. We represent the SBB during work near electrical installations, check equipment compliance upon receipt and have anomalies corrected. We review projects to facilitate future maintenance and identify technical causes in the event of incidents. For information on social benefits, such as free GA travelcards and discounted foreign travel (also for family members), please visit our website under Social Benefits.
What you can move.
- As head of "Traction Current" installations, you ensure their safety and availability and represent the owner’s interests with internal and external services. You identify the causes of faults, especially on switching devices.
- You analyse and assess results from various monitoring methods (diagnostic vehicle, local measurements, visual inspections), taking risks into account. You define and assign maintenance measures (quality, deadlines) to internal and external partners and initiate immediate actions if necessary.
- You ensure new installations are fault-free, carry out the SIOP B inspection if needed, and, as the client’s representative, defend their interests vis-à-vis third parties (individuals, municipalities, authorities). You ensure installation data is kept up to date.
- You technically accept maintenance and repair work and manage defects.
- Depending on the installation, you plan, coordinate and supervise execution work; you lead contracted companies and guarantee compliance with work and safety standards.
What you bring.
- Thanks to your experience, you have developed excellent communication skills: you are confident when troubleshooting, especially on switching devices, and know how to give clear and precise instructions to SBB colleagues and external companies.
- In terms of education, you hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) in a technical field and have experience managing overhead line construction sites (team leader, foreman or project manager). You will attend certification training as an expert in "overhead lines" and "cables and cable protection".
- You have excellent knowledge of maintenance guidelines, installation components, risk situations, as well as construction and operational processes.
- You have an excellent level of French or German (minimum C1), and a good level in the second language (ideally from B2).
- Additionally, you have good IT skills (DfA, SAP, AMGT, ZMON and MS Office).
