Senior Cyber Security Engineer - Detection & Response (m/f/d)
Our partner is an owner-managed IT service company and has been successful for over 25 years with the full spectrum of IT solutions. Tailored to public administrations, energy suppliers and SMEs in the service sector, our partner employs around 100 staff and impresses with excellent industry and technology know-how.
Role:
You ensure that security incidents are not only detected but understood and sustainably prevented. In doing so, you combine security engineering, threat detection and incident response with a good understanding of modern IT infrastructures.
Responsibilities:
You analyse vulnerability reports, prioritise risks and coordinate their remediation with IT teams, manufacturers and external partners.
You operate and further develop our security monitoring landscape and improve the detection of suspicious activities.
You conduct threat-hunting activities, technical security assessments and targeted penetration tests.
You analyse security events, coordinate incident response measures and support the processing of critical incidents.
You further develop security architectures for on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
You establish and automate security controls, monitoring mechanisms and recurring security processes.
You create security policies, technical standards and operational documentation and contribute your expertise in audits and architectural decisions.
Qualifications:
University degree in computer science, cyber security or a comparable technical qualification.
Several years of professional experience in cyber security, security engineering, SOC or incident response.
Sound knowledge of network, Windows, Linux and cloud security.
Experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR or comparable detection and response platforms.
Experience with vulnerability management, threat intelligence and attack techniques.
Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, GCIH or comparable further training are advantageous.
Analytical and independent personality with a high willingness to learn, strong communication skills and team orientation.
