In this role, you support the financial planning, implementation, and reporting of projects in development cooperation and humanitarian aid. You work closely with the local financial managers of the country offices as well as the project managers at the headquarters in Lucerne and ensure transparent control of funds. You contribute significantly to financially accompanying complex projects and making their impact comprehensible. As a finance controlling specialist (m/f/d), you actively shape processes and contribute your professional expertise effectively. You appreciate the flexibility of a somewhat non-traditional role in finance and controlling and use this scope to drive continuous improvements.
Responsibilities:
- You control and support the accounting of the country offices
- In this role, you advise project managers and staff in the field offices on financial administrative matters
- As a finance controlling specialist, you participate in preparing the financial part of funding applications and financing requests to co-financiers
- You review financial and audit reports
- In this role, you assist with budget modifications and supplementary credit applications
- As a finance controlling specialist, you prepare interim and final financial reports for co-financiers and internal departments and continuously impart knowledge about financial processes
Qualifications:
- You have training as a finance and accounting specialist or a Bachelor’s degree in business administration (or a similar qualification at HF/FH level).
- Ideally, you have initial professional experience in accounting or controlling.
- You possess good IT user skills, especially in Excel, and ideally also experience with Abacus.
- You communicate confidently in German and additionally have good English or French skills.
- You work in a service- and customer-oriented manner.
- You enjoy imparting basic business knowledge.
