Medical and Reception Secretary for the Leenaards Memory Centre
The secretariat of the Leenaards Memory Centre (CLM), attached to the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, is seeking a medical and reception secretary at a 50% workload from 1 December 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences brings together the neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation services, the Leenaards Memory Centre, the Neuroscience Research Centre and the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalised care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from brain to muscle.
Inaugurated in 2013 and led by Professor Gilles Allali, the Leenaards Memory Centre is a centre of excellence dedicated to the care and research of Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive disorders related to ageing. Combining multidisciplinary clinical expertise and cutting-edge translational research, the CLM’s mission is to improve understanding, early diagnosis and management of neurodegenerative diseases.
Mission
- Welcome and guide patients, their relatives and visitors, also ensuring telephone reception and providing communication adapted to different users.
- Manage the administrative aspects of the patient file: processing incoming requests, monitoring receipts, scheduling appointments and preparing consultations administratively.
- Manage medical documents: typing and sending reports and consultation letters, monitoring prescriptions and physiotherapy vouchers, as well as archiving documents.
- Ensure the smooth running of the secretariat: handling mail, managing the team’s email inboxes and daily collaboration with various contacts.
- Contribute to the quality of reception and service, respecting the values and guiding principles of CHUV.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee and ideally have medical secretary training, with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- You have perfect command of French and type quickly and accurately.
- You demonstrate versatility, good prioritisation skills and rigorous organisation.
- You are a punctual, friendly, approachable and respectful colleague, with excellent interpersonal skills adapted to each interlocutor.
- You show empathy, active listening and availability, and are comfortable with common office software as well as CHUV-specific tools.
