Are you interested in clinical and neuroscientific questions in the field of suicidality and suicide prevention? Would you like to further develop your scientific career in an interdisciplinary research environment and contribute to a better understanding and treatment of people with suicidal experiences and behaviour? The multidisciplinary research group of PD Dr phil Anja Gysin-Maillart and Prof Dr med Kristina Adorjan at the University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Bern is concerned with the early detection, understanding and treatment of suicidal experiences and behaviour in adulthood. Our research combines clinical questions with empirical and neuroscientific methods such as clinical interviews, questionnaires, neuropsychological procedures, Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) as well as digital and physiological measurement methods. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed postdoc who wishes to further develop their scientific profile and design independent research projects in the field of suicide research and suicide prevention. We offer a scientifically demanding position in an interdisciplinary environment with opportunities to develop your own research projects, support with publications and third-party funding applications, access to existing research projects and data sets as well as national and international networking. In addition, you will benefit from mentoring, further training and development opportunities as well as participation in scientific congresses.
Your tasks
- You independently process and further develop research questions in the field of suicidality and suicide prevention
- You coordinate and further develop ongoing research projects
- You plan and conduct studies as well as statistical analyses
- You prepare and publish scientific manuscripts
- You contribute to third-party funding applications and research collaborations
- You present research results at national and international congresses
- You participate in teaching and supervising students
- You actively contribute to the scientific development of the research group
Your profile
- You hold a completed doctorate (PhD/Dr) in psychology, neuroscience or a related field
- You have experience in planning, conducting and analysing empirical research projects
- You have very good knowledge of quantitative research methods and statistics
- You have experience with scientific publications
- You are interested in clinical research, especially in the field of suicidality and suicide prevention
- You want to develop your own research questions and further develop your scientific profile
- You have very good German and English skills
- You work independently, in a structured and reliable manner
- You enjoy working interdisciplinarily and internationally
- Experience in suicide research, clinical research, EMA, digital or psychophysiological measurement methods is an advantage
