The Department of Surgery consists of 7 clinics: the clinics for Vascular Surgery, Hand and Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Visceral and Thoracic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery and Urology.
We have 200 acute care beds, an interdisciplinary intensive care unit, an interdisciplinary emergency department as well as an outpatient clinic centre.
The Department of Surgery has a central function. All surgical procedures, except heart operations and organ transplants, are performed. In the inpatient and outpatient areas, a total of 10,700 procedures are carried out annually.
We are looking for a junior assistant in surgery by arrangement.
This is who we are
Your tasks
- You want to actively support us for 1 to 4 months in our hospital routine, participate in ward rounds and reports, assist in operations and take on your own tasks in the emergency department?
- You will learn to assess and treat the surgical patient and acquire various manual skills important for everyday surgical practice
- During the placement, you will rotate between the surgical emergency department, vascular surgery, hand and plastic surgery, neurosurgery, paediatric surgery, orthopaedics and traumatology as well as visceral and thoracic surgery
- On request, a combination with the specialty of urology is possible
Your profile
- Active medical student
- Student in the elective study year (CH) or in the practical year or student at the time of the clinical clerkship in the 4th year of study or 2nd clinical year
- Minimum internship duration of 4 weeks
- German language skills at least B2
