Senior Physician Geriatrics (m/f/d)
Role:
In this role, you will take on the specialist medical care of patients in internal medicine with a focus on geriatrics and ensure a high-quality, evidence-based provision of care. You are responsible for the assessment, treatment, and progress planning of complex internal and geriatric medical conditions, deliberately involving interprofessional interfaces. As an experienced specialist, you contribute your expertise to diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making processes and ensure structured documentation. Depending on the scope of the function, you may also take responsibility for the professional leadership, supervision, and training of assistant physicians. In doing so, you actively shape processes and workflows to support the continuous development of medical quality.
Responsibilities:
- You ensure the medical care of patients within the small acute geriatrics team with a flat hierarchy
- In this role, you assess and care for patients in their medical, social, and psychological entirety
- You supervise assistant physicians in their clinical daily routine
- In this role, you actively participate in the training of assistant physicians and nursing staff
- As a senior physician in internal medicine or senior physician with a focus on geriatrics, you participate in the internal medicine on-call service (approx. 4 weekends/year at 100% employment)
Qualifications:
- You hold a specialist title in general internal medicine; a focus on geriatrics is advantageous
- You are willing to collaborate interdisciplinarily and are characterised by flexibility and commitment
- You are resilient, possess high social competence, and enjoy teaching assistant physicians and nursing staff
