About the job
Shape the power grid of the next generation.
The demands on power grids are fundamentally changing: decentralised feed-in, photovoltaics, electromobility, heat pumps, digitalisation and new regulatory requirements call for long-term planning and professional asset management. EBL has been anchored in energy supply for over 125 years and operates a power grid of around 1,700 kilometres with approximately 60,000 network connections. For the further development of strategic asset management, we are looking for a leader who develops future visions and translates them into actionable foundations. For sustainable further development, we are seeking a
Head of Strategic Asset Management
Your Challenge
You lead an interdisciplinary team in development and are responsible for the long-term development of the EBL power distribution network. You combine network strategy, target network planning, asset management, data as well as risk and investment control into an effective overall system. Central to this is the establishment of a management system according to ISO 55000, target network planning with a long-term horizon, and clear decision-making bases for investments, maintenance and operation.
Your Tasks
You lead, empower and develop the team and actively shape the further development of the organisation.
You develop long-term asset and network strategies and ensure their implementation in planning, investment, maintenance and operation.
You further develop the strategic asset management team process-wise, methodically and tool-wise according to the principles of ISO 55000.
You are responsible for target network planning and derive reliable expansion and renewal programmes for a long-term planning horizon.
You prioritise investment and maintenance programmes according to costs, risks, asset condition and performance.
You further develop data bases, models, methods and specialist systems for network calculation, GIS/NIS, scenarios and management decisions.
You shape the interfaces to network operation, project planning, construction, quality, controlling, IT and data management.
Your Profile
You have a university degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, physics, industrial engineering or a comparable technical discipline. You bring several years of experience in asset management, network planning, network development or operation of energy or critical infrastructures. Ideally, you are familiar with power distribution networks and ISO 55000; convincing profiles from gas, water, rail, telecommunications or life sciences are also welcome. You have leadership experience or clearly recognisable leadership potential, think strategically and holistically, and translate complex contexts into understandable, actionable foundations. Very good German skills are required; English is an advantage.
What Awaits You
You take on a key role in a development and transformation phase with exceptionally wide scope for design. Short decision-making paths, open collaboration and an experienced, direct and empathetic supervisor create the conditions to effectively implement good ideas. You work with a professionally diverse team and shape the long-term development of a critical infrastructure. Attractive conditions such as 30 days holiday, 13th month salary, a strong pension scheme, support for further training and up to around 40% home office complement the role.
