About the job
University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
from 1 February 2027 or by arrangement
The University Psychiatric Centre Bern (UPZ) is expanding its treatment offering at the Bern Parent-Child Centre with an outreach pedagogical-therapeutic support (Hometreatment) for children aged 0 to 6 years and their families. The treatment takes place directly in the families' familiar living environment – where psychological problems manifest and sustainable changes can be initiated. Together with the families, we develop individual interventions tailored to their life situation that strengthen their resources and promote the development of the children. You will work independently and in close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of professionals from education, psychology, and medicine. This intensive interdisciplinary cooperation requires flexibility, creativity, and team spirit.
Your tasks
- You accompany children and their families in the pedagogical-therapeutic environment, promote their independence, and support them in actively shaping their development and therapy process
- You plan and implement individual therapeutic interventions tailored to the family’s life situation
- As a hometreater, you work in a multiprofessional team of professionals from education, psychology, and medicine
- You engage with parents and guardians in a respectful and solution-oriented manner and actively involve them in the treatment process
- You support families in dealing with challenging everyday situations and strengthen their resources within the therapeutic process
- You contribute your professional perspective to the diagnostic process and participate in developing a shared understanding of the case as well as in setting therapy goals. Together with the treatment team, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting the treatment
- Your independent and responsible working style makes an important contribution to treatment quality and achieving the clinic’s performance goals
Your profile
- You have a qualification as a certified nurse HF/FH or as a certified social pedagogue HF/FH
- You bring practical experience in outreach work as well as experience in supporting young children aged 0 to 6 years
- Ideally, you have experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, multifamily work, or further training in systemic family work
- You are familiar with the social pedagogical, educational, and medical care landscape in the canton of Bern and can navigate it confidently
- You are empathetic, reflect on your actions, and find solution-oriented approaches even in challenging situations
- You work independently, flexibly, and responsibly and appreciate close interdisciplinary collaboration
- You know how to work constructively, respectfully, and on an equal footing with parents and guardians
- You can provide a clean criminal record via private and special private extracts
- You hold a driving licence and flexibly use public transport or a car for outreach work depending on the situation. You plan your assignments efficiently, economically, and environmentally consciously.
- You have very good German language skills in spoken and written form – any additional language is a plus
