Whether innovating and implementing new technologies as a team, collaborating on the development of new devices, or strengthening important relationships with various global industries: our work is based on building trusting relationships that help everyone succeed. As a family-run company, we look beyond short-term goals and work to create a future-oriented vision for our employees, our customers, and the world in general.
We are looking for a Head of Software Engineering R&D (Industrial Measurement Devices) to strengthen our team and actively shape the future of our software platforms – from the idea to the globally deployed solution that makes industries worldwide more efficient and sustainable.
What is this role about?
Do you want to develop software platforms for measuring devices used worldwide in industrial processes? Do you want to lead an international team and drive innovation noticeably forward? Are you excited by making strategic decisions that will shape our technologies in the long term?
Then you can expect a role where you bring together technology, people, and strategy, having a real impact on solutions used daily worldwide in the energy, food, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or oil & gas industries.
What tasks will you take on?
You will:
- lead and further develop the main department "R&D Product Platforms Software" with around 75 employees and external partners
- be responsible for software development for our measuring devices – from requirements analysis and architecture to testing across the entire ecosystem (measuring device, customer system, service, tools)
- shape the strategic direction of software development within E+H Flow and define long-term platform and technology roadmaps
- promote collaboration and standardisation across locations and within the global network, thereby strengthening synergies throughout the company
- build a high-performance organisation, develop talents, and establish an open, learning-oriented leadership culture
- ensure quality, safety, and clear governance in development processes as well as take responsibility for budget planning and controlling
What do we expect from you?
You:
- have a degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, or technical computer science, as well as many years of experience in embedded software development (at least 10 years)
- possess solid knowledge in requirements analysis, data modelling, as well as platforms and their ecosystems
- have extensive experience in developing strategies based on technology trends and customer needs, as well as managing external partners
- think strategically and act with strong implementation skills – even in dynamic and rapidly changing environments
- lead inspiringly and actively promote cross-departmental collaboration, personal responsibility, and the development of your employees
- convince with strong communication skills in German and English, integrity, and experience in transformation processes
What can you expect from us?
- A responsible key role with global impact in a successful and stable family business
- Plenty of scope to actively drive innovation and technological development
- International collaboration in a strong network with over 18,000 employees worldwide
- Attractive working conditions, flexible working models, and an appreciative corporate culture
- We are a family company where friendliness and strong commitment are important.
- We promote lifelong learning with diverse training and development opportunities, internal knowledge transfer, and e-learning.
