Local Site Manager Substations Central Switzerland (80-100%)
Ensuring electricity in Switzerland
In this exciting role, you are responsible for coordinating the assembly, installation, and construction activities on site at our substations in Central Switzerland. You represent Swissgrid on new builds, renewals, and expansion activities on site and have, among other things, the following tasks:
- You take over plant responsibility during the construction phase and work closely with the operational contact person of the plant as well as the project manager
- One of the core tasks is the review and assurance of electrical safety in our network construction projects. Compliance with safety rules (Health & Safety), environmental requirements, as well as Swissgrid internal instructions, processes, and guidelines through regular audits
- Before and during construction activities, you create and instruct work orders, accompany the necessary switching measures in coordination with the operational contact person of the plant, system management, and other involved parties
- As the on-site coordinator, you are the central contact person for internal and external partners. You ensure a smooth process of assembly and construction activities and represent the project management on site
- Organisation and leadership of construction meetings on site as well as documentation of processes and work regarding traceability and evidence preservation
- Recognising and documenting deviations regarding the agreed execution and actively managing the contractually agreed service

For this responsible position, we are looking for a team-oriented but also independently acting personality with pronounced cooperation and communication skills. With your good negotiation techniques, you can assert your opinion even against service providers and authorities. In addition, you bring the following:
- Electrical engineering apprenticeship, preferably with further training as a technician HF with a degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification
- Expertise in line/plant construction in terms of the High Voltage Ordinance, Art. 3 No. 23 is an advantage. Several years of professional experience working as a person responsible for the construction of power transmission plants (e.g., in planning, construction, or assembly management)
- Additional experience in civil engineering and/or contract management would be a plus
- Good IT skills and user knowledge of the MS Office suite, SAP, and GIS
- Ideally BIM and knowledge of construction-specific costing software
- Fluent and negotiation-secure knowledge of German, ideally with advanced knowledge of another national language
- Willingness for multi-day assignments outside the office location on construction sites in your language region or throughout Switzerland
