Your Tasks
Collaboration in the court chancery: This includes:
Managing cases (from case intake to case closure using the specialised application Juris, including scheduling court hearings and drafting judgments) as well as handling general correspondence and enquiries."
Maintaining case accounting: You request cost advances and monitor payment deadlines and receipts. You settle litigation cases and initiate case-related disbursements.
Supporting the usher/attendant team: In times of staff shortages, you assist the usher/attendant team.
Your Profile
Experience: You have several years of professional experience, ideally in the legal field. You are proficient in using the MS Office suite and have an affinity for IT applications with an interest in digital transformation.
Personality: As a discreet and service-oriented individual, you enjoy working in a team. You act in a structured manner with a high awareness of quality. Even in hectic situations, you keep an overview and take responsibility.
Education: For this demanding role, a completed commercial or equivalent education is essential, as well as a CAS further education in the legal field (if not already obtained, this can be completed after employment).
Language: Confident German language skills, both spoken and written. Knowledge of foreign languages is an advantage.

The Court of Appeal Basel-Stadt is the highest cantonal court instance in civil and criminal matters. As a second instance, it reviews decisions of the Civil Court, Criminal Court, and Juvenile Court when challenged by the parties involved. The Court of Appeal also serves as the cantonal administrative and constitutional court and deals with orders issued by the Basel-Stadt administration that are contested. Responsible for various subject areas, it makes a significant contribution to legal certainty in the canton.
