Sous-Chef (m/f) 80%-100% - Basel
The focus is on the à la carte restaurant in the "Gartensaal" as well as in the rustic part, the "Schluuch". These two restaurants can accommodate up to 160 people. Additionally, the "Schützenhaus" offers three beautiful banquet rooms, the largest of which, the "Schützensaal", can accommodate up to 180 people. During the summer, an additional 300 seats are available in the garden and on the newly designed terrace.
You have successfully completed your training as a cook and have already gained several years of experience in the kitchen. You are passionate about classic cuisine and have high quality standards. Creativity, reliability, flexibility, and resilience are prerequisites, as well as good French and German language skills. As a cook in our Schützenhaus kitchen team, you are responsible for preparing à la carte dishes as well as banquets.
Your direct supervisor is the head chef or his deputy.
As a trained professional, you work independently at your station in the kitchen. Furthermore, you are responsible for assistant cooks if needed, i.e., training, supporting with various tasks, preparing new dishes, etc.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for the following by agreement:

Your area of responsibility:
- Mis-en-place for the preparation of dishes
- Preparation of à la carte and banquet dishes
- Plating dishes as requested by the head chef or deputy
- Efficient and clean working
- Working efficiently with minimal waste
- Keeping your own workplace clean
- Cleaning tasks according to cleaning plan/HACCP
- Checking inventory and timely notification of shortages, passing on necessary orders to the head chef or deputy head chef
- Supporting other workstations in the kitchen as needed
- Other tasks as instructed by the supervisor
Your profile:
- Several years of experience as a cook in diverse gastronomy
- Competent in proper food handling
- Creative and committed
- Passionate as a cook
- Fluent in German and French
