The Department of General Internal Medicine (DAIM) is a clinical competence centre at three clinic locations in Bern (Klinik Beau-Site, Salem Hospital, Klinik Permanence) covering the entire spectrum of the discipline of General Internal Medicine and interdisciplinary clinical emergency medicine. The DAIM is a Category A training centre for General Internal Medicine, Category IV for outpatient medicine, and SGNOR Category 2 for clinical emergency medicine.

YOUR TASKS

• You take over the professional organisation and management of the emergency operations and act as the central contact person between referrers and the clinic
• You ensure a high-quality, patient-centred care and coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration
• You participate in the medical on-call service – without mandatory night presence
• You lead and support assistant doctors as well as students in training and further education
• You are responsible for medical performance recording, reporting and optimise existing processes
• You strengthen cross-departmental collaboration and are the medical contact person for inpatient matters during off-hours

YOUR PROFILE

• You hold a specialist title in General Internal Medicine or another specialty (e.g. Surgery) or are close to completing the specialist title
• You are interested in a broad spectrum of clinical pictures from various disciplines
• You bring knowledge in interdisciplinary emergency medicine – possibly additional qualification in clinical emergency medicine SGNOR – and ideally have experience in the use of sonography
• You are an organisational talent for everyday emergency department operations and are team-oriented and communicative in interdisciplinary exchange
• You are very empathetic in dealing with patients and relatives
• We value your conflict resolution skills, sense of responsibility and resilience
