As part of the Clinic for Consultation, Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry (Head: Dr med Rafael Meyer), the Centre for Geriatric Psychiatry (Head: Kristine Ewert, Dr med Andrea Wälder and Susanne Spring) fulfils a valuable mission for the mental health of older people and their relatives with its services. It has four specialised wards as well as two outpatient clinics with Memory Clinics at the Aarau and Windisch locations. In addition to consultations and advisory services for relatives, the outpatient area includes the geriatric psychiatric consultation and liaison service for nursing homes. The centre is an SIWF-recognised training centre for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Geriatric Psychiatry, Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry as well as General Internal Medicine.

Profile

• Advanced or completed training for the specialist title in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
• Interest in further training specialising in Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
• Sense of responsibility, reliability and ability to work in a team
• High social skills, independent and efficient working style as well as high resilience
• Enjoyment of multiprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Interest in leadership tasks (e.g. supervision and consultation concept)

Tasks

• Independent evidence-based integrated geriatric psychiatric-psychotherapeutic diagnosis and therapy within the framework of the standardised procedures of the outpatient consultation services
• Careful structured case documentation including report writing
• Supervision and intervision of assistant doctors and psychologists
• Networking/collaboration with involved parties (GP, hospital, relatives)
• Participation in interdisciplinary meetings
• Collaboration in the multiprofessional and interdisciplinary team
• Situational involvement in concept work, WuF offers and projects according to management specifications
