Role:

As a Network & Security Engineer, you actively shape a secure digital future and ensure that modern IT infrastructures remain stable, available, and protected. In this role, you take responsibility for planning, building, and operating complex network and security solutions. You analyse security requirements, identify risks, and implement appropriate technical measures to effectively protect data and systems. Additionally, you optimise existing architectures, automate recurring tasks, and ensure high service quality through continuous monitoring. Through your expertise, you contribute to balancing technical innovation, security, and a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the reliable operation of firewall, VPN, and other security components in demanding network environments.

• Further development and hardening of existing security architectures as well as evaluation of new technologies and solution approaches.

• Handling troubleshooting and technical analysis of complex network and security issues.

• Supporting the handling of cyber-security incidents as well as accompanying escalations and service disruptions.

• Technical support of customers in the managed service environment - both remotely and occasionally on site.

• Participation in consulting mandates, presales activities, and implementation of individual security projects.

• Contributing expertise in network access, web security, DNS, load balancing, and secure remote access solutions.

Qualifications:

• Several years of professional experience in network security or security engineering as well as practical experience with at least one established firewall platform.

• Knowledge of Check Point, Fortinet, or Palo Alto Networks; relevant vendor certifications are an advantage.

• Ideally experience with managed services and additional technologies such as secure web proxy, F5, or DNS solutions.

• Good knowledge of network architectures, VPN, security policies, and systematic fault analysis.

• A structured and solution-oriented working style as well as an understanding of IT service management and ITIL.

• Confident and professional appearance in customer contact, combined with strong team and communication skills.

• Very good German language skills and willingness to take on on-call duties if required.
