In this role, you will design a stable and high-performance Oracle database landscape on which business-critical applications can always rely. You are responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and optimisation of Oracle databases, ensuring availability, security, and efficiency. You analyse complex database requirements, plan suitable solutions, and implement them in coordination with the relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you take on monitoring, fault analysis, and troubleshooting, deriving sustainable improvement measures. Through your expertise in backup, recovery, and performance tuning strategies, you contribute significantly to the continuous development of the database environment.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring a highly available database platform including administration, maintenance, fault analysis, and capacity planning.
Support and further development of Oracle and PostgreSQL systems with a focus on performance, stability, and operational reliability.
Operation of the AIX-based core infrastructure on IBM Power systems as well as support in technical escalations.
Planning and implementation of infrastructural projects from technical conception to productive introduction.
Standardisation and automation of operational processes using Shell, Ansible, or comparable tools.
Qualifications:
Solid IT education or comparable technical background with relevant specialisation.
Several years of professional experience in the administration and engineering of Oracle databases, ideally including performance tuning and Enterprise Manager.
Very good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL as well as experience with scripting languages and automated operational processes.
Practical experience with AIX and IBM Power as well as knowledge of modern PostgreSQL deployments, for example in Kubernetes or Docker environments.
Responsible, structured personality with strong troubleshooting skills and enthusiasm for technically demanding projects.
