Founded in 1910 and newly renovated, the Restaurant Volkshaus Zürich stands for traditional and authentic cuisine, where we primarily use organic products. Our bar and restaurant offer space for a total of 260 guests and combine the charm of the 1920s with a relaxed, modern atmosphere.

The Volkshaus is a popular meeting place for connoisseurs and a venue for a wide variety of events. Our spacious rooms can accommodate banquets and parties with up to 2,000 people. National and international music stars, party labels, classical concerts, general meetings, theatre performances, and banquets ensure that there is always a lot going on here throughout the year. More than 1,500 events take place here annually.

We are looking for a motivated

Carver (m/f) 60 %

immediately or by arrangement

Hourly wage
Wednesday to Saturday, 5:00 pm to approx. 11:00 pm
Season: September to approx. mid-May

As a carver, you are an important part of our service team and have direct contact with our guests. You present the roast trolley, carve directly at the table, and advise our guests on their selection. Together with the team, you ensure attentive and excellent service.

Your tasks

• Preparation and cleaning of the roast trolley according to our concept
• Presentation of the roast trolley directly at the table
• Carving and expert advice to our guests
• Active sales and recommendation of the offered dishes
• Care and sales at the spirits trolley
• Attentive beverage service
• Clearing and resetting tables
• Preparation of the daily mise en place
• Support of the service team during ongoing operations

Your profile

• You are an open, warm, and hospitable personality
• You enjoy interacting with guests and providing direct service
• You have good knowledge and experience in the F&B sector
• You enjoy carving and presenting dishes directly at the table
• Good knowledge of spirits is an advantage
• You speak very good German; English and/or French skills are an advantage
• You keep an overview even when it gets hectic
• You enjoy working in a team and help out wherever support is needed
