Purpose of the Foundation
The citizen community Vaz/Obervaz and the political community Vaz/Obervaz aim with the «Foundation Erstwohnraum Vaz/Obervaz» to create and maintain demand-oriented and economically affordable housing (rental apartments) for the local population of all age groups in the municipality of Vaz/Obervaz.
Role of the Foundation Board
The foundation board member, together with the foundation board members of the citizen community Vaz/Obervaz and the political community Vaz/Obervaz, bears the overall strategic responsibility for the foundation. They ensure that the foundation's purpose is sustainably fulfilled and that the foundation develops and implements its projects economically, legally, and socially responsibly.
Main Tasks
Founding Phase
- Participation in the establishment of the foundation
- Development of various regulations
- Definition of the strategic direction
- Collaboration in determining the organisational structure
- Establishment of sustainable governance
- Recruitment of any management or external partners
- Participation in capital procurement and financing
- Support of the first project developments
Strategic Leadership
- Determination of the long-term strategy
- Collaboration in setting annual goals
- Ensuring the fulfilment of the foundation's purpose and annual goals
- Approval of significant projects
- Approval of the budget and financial planning
- Decision on major investments
Project Development
- Evaluation of new project ideas
- Strategic support of land purchases or building rights

- Monitoring of project development

Finances

The foundation board member, together with the entire foundation board, has the following competences:

Meetings

Estimated Time Commitment (per year)
In the founding phase (approx. ½ year)
- 80 - 100 hours (including meetings, preparation, project tasks)
In regular operation
- Approx. 40 – 60 hours (including meetings, preparation, project tasks)
For larger construction projects, the effort may be higher
Remuneration
The remuneration is based on the remuneration regulations of the foundation developed by the foundation board.
Term of Office
The term of office is 4 years according to the statutes. Re-election is possible.
