About the job
Living Diversity
As the largest social enterprise in the Basel area, we offer meaningful work, self-determined living, as well as comprehensive care and support at BSB (Bürgerspital Basel) with around 1,600 employees.
The youth promotion course offers young people with disabilities a one-year programme for career choice and targeted preparation for future training. In the group-dynamically designed learning field, participants acquire key qualifications and gain initial work experience.
Your Role
You design and are responsible for the school lessons for 5-7 adolescents and young adults in a vocational measure. You develop individual educational offers with the aim of preparing the young people for entry into initial vocational training. In doing so, you promote academic and personal skills. You align the lessons with the requirements of the desired occupational fields and training levels. You create a reliable learning framework that takes into account the individual abilities, resources, and specific support needs of the young people. In addition, you document learning progress and relevant observations and write reports within the framework of the vocational integration process.
One day per week, you lead the work training. Here you can apply your craft skills and enable the young people and young adults to have a practical approach to "work and learning".
Depending on need, assignments in other settings of the youth promotion course are possible, especially in the workshop, gastronomy, textile studio, and vocational preparation.
Your Profile
- Completed studies in social pedagogy, curative education, or teaching diploma (comparable qualification with corresponding experience possible)
- Teaching experience with persons with special educational needs
- Experience in designing individual and holistic educational offers
- Openness to working in an innovative team and contributing (social) pedagogical knowledge
- Interest in supporting young people and young adults in challenging and stressful situations and crises
- Enjoyment of networking work and report writing
- Craft skills are an advantage; knowledge about bicycles is a plus but not a requirement
Your Benefits
- Exciting field of work in a lively, dynamic, and learning organisation
- Freedom for professional and personal development
- Careful introduction to the company
- Modern workplace, directly accessible by public transport (you benefit from a discounted TNW subscription)
- Attractive public-law employment conditions
