Assistant Physician: Neurology External Year

The University Clinic for Neurology is the largest neurological clinic in Switzerland and offers high-quality treatment both in basic neurological care and in highly specialised medicine (Stroke Centre, Movement Disorders Centre (including deep brain stimulation), Sleep-Wake-Epilepsy Centre (including pre-epilepsy surgical assessment). Annually, over 30,000 patients are treated on an outpatient basis and approximately 2,000 patients are treated as inpatients.

What to expect

The rotation position as part of an external year in neurology offers a high level of interdisciplinarity with many interesting focal points and common clinical pictures such as headaches, dizziness, epilepsies, strokes, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, neuropsychosomatics or sleep disorders. Deployment is possible, depending on interests, optionally or in combination at the neurological outpatient clinic, the emergency department in combination with the Stroke Centre, the neurological ward or neurorehabilitation. A solid clinically oriented neurological training is guaranteed within the rotation. You will gain insight into the most important interfaces, especially with internal medicine as well as psychiatry. What you bring

You have at least one year of experience in internal medicine, psychiatry, paediatrics or neurosurgery, are committed and a team player. Knowledge of French is desirable.
