The role holder will have to:

  • Produce Tax Statements for Bank’s Clients in an accurate and timely manner and ensure Tax statements’ accuracy.
  • Produce regulatory reportings required by Tax authorities in an accurate and timely manner (QI, FATCA, CRS, SFTA).
  • Produce Tax reclaim documentation.
  • Participate to the training of the new joiners and improve efficiency and quality by sharing knowledge and proposing and implementing proper solutions. Act as a specialist in the resolution of complex issues.

What you will do:

Impact on the Business

  • Support Front Office on Tax reporting related subjects/issues.
  • Support Offshored teams for the production of Tax Statement, follow-up and investigation issue.
  • Coordinate with Outsourced Teams and Front Office for Tax Reclaim process.
  • Business / Client investigation issues.
  • Participate in Tax reporting related projects (Building of adequate Tax reporting solutions, Project related to the Tax reporting accuracy improvement…).
  • Support Offshored team on the production of Tax documents for final clients (Generic, Specific).
  • Production of mandatory documents required by Tax authorities.
  • Ensure that Tax Documents are conform with the rules applicable by Swiss tax Authorities/Foreign Tax authorities (When applicable).
  • Provide efficient and timely support to RM's for raised issues/requests.
  • Ability to anticipate RM's requirements/new clients’ needs.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Full compliance & respect of the Bank’s values & behaviours at all times.
  • Works closely with business areas responsible to drive changes/improvements which impact tax reporting.
  • Escalation of potential high risk items, significant events, difficulties and significant delays in issues resolution.
  • To manage all HR requirements on a timely basis.
  • Make sure all the controls are performed in accordance with the checklists and the level of performance required in order mitigating risks.
  • Make sure that all resources needed for the proper execution of above mentioned tasks are available.
  • Intervention and ownership on sensitive operations which require specific knowledge.
  • Identify and prevent potential risks or errors, communicate these issues and provide solution.
  • Support Manager to deliver project on time and to achieve the objectives.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Ensuring adherence to Local and Group regulations (PBT FIM).
  • Strict adherence to the Bank’s Reporting Policy, maintaining accountability for tax reporting related incidents fixing. To undertake rigorous follow up of open issues and to follow the escalation processes where open issues are not being appropriately actioned.
  • To accurately complete all tasks under the team’s responsibility on a timely basis.
  • To be familiar with audit reports and comply with recommendations in accordance with deadlines.
  • Understands procedures & Desk Instruction Manual documentation.
  • Stay alert and stay informed with regards to changes in guidelines and procedures/Regulatory changes which impact the activity.
  • Participate in the elaboration of procedures and directives applicable to the team.

  • Specific Financial knowledge: Interests, Capital Gain, Corporate Actions, financial products.
  • Strong Operations knowledge.
  • Tax knowledge.
  • Undertakes processes and controls effectively, whilst ensuring accuracy. Works well under pressure and to agreed deadlines.
  • Proactive contribution to timely and accurate delivery. Proactive and keen eye for detail.
  • Be able to work under pressure and deliver within strict deadline.
  • Computer skills : Avaloq, EasyTax, FiTax, MS Office.
  • Fluency of spoken and written French and English, German a plus.
  • Conscientious, hardworking and result oriented. Motivated to achieve high performance. Methodical and adaptable.
  • Enquiring mind, actively seeking information. Proactive, with desire to improve processes.
  • A strong team player, working closely with operational areas towards resolving outstanding items.
  • Co-operates and builds rapport with others.
  • Good communication skills and information sharing.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Analytical & Problem solving skills – the candidate should be to analyse and comment on large volumes of data and be able to propose solutions to issues within a short period of time.
