Marketplace Planner (1year contract - maternity cover) - THE NORTH FACE

We are looking for an outstanding Marketplace Planner to become a core member of the Marketplace/Multi-Channel Operations Team for The North Face EMEA, within the Marketplace Planning Team, with specific responsibility to support the brand’s wholesale Channel-led sales organization in executing the GTM strategy through a seamless Marketplace planning, seasonal budgeting and sales campaign/order intake management.

The remit has mainly two elements:

  • Planning and forecasting: work with Channel Leads and wholesale Sales Teams to support and drive the seasonal forecasting & planning with different level of granularity based on season timeline.
  • Marketplace and GTM strategy execution: monitoring and tracking the execution of the wholesale order intake against GTM forecast, channel targets, brand OGSTM and strategic objectives (seasonal stories, marketing initiatives, product choices).

What will you do

  • Act as a partner for the Channels Leads, provide meaningful historical data to support the seasonal planning exercise and make informed decisions.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Adopt a “continuous improvement” approach to support and drive the GTM strategy.
  • Interact x-functionally within brand functions such as DTC, supply-chain planning, marketing, product and marketplace merchandising.
  • Link with Sales Teams and EMEA Brand HQ to get better insight on sales and forecast evolution.
  • Work with wholesale Sales Teams to support and influence seasonal forecasting (per account, product category and style level).
  • Breakdown of channel forecast into style forecast to influence the buy plan and maximize order intake.
  • Drive monthly reviews to seek consensus around landing point to steer the buy.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to maximize the execution of the pre-book sales campaign.
  • Partner with supply-chain planning to maximize product availability during pre-book order intake.
  • Define together with functional Leads relevant KPIs to be monitored and tracked.
  • Provide frequent and relevant updates on main KPIs, also including channel performance, account plans and distribution mapping.
  • Timely identify any orderbook risk to manage and support healthy inventory levels for the brand.
  • Become a key stakeholder between marketplace merchandising, sales and marketing to drive alignment and support the GTM processes across the season.
  • Review business processes to ensure a solid governance is in place to support Sales Teams.
  • Any other duties as assigned to the Job Holder within the Job Holder’s capabilities.

What you need to succeed?

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.

  • Education : University Degree or equivalent, preferably in Statistics, Economics or Finance
  • Language skills: Excellent communication skills in English. Any other European language is a plus for the role.
  • Experience:  at least 1 year of business planning, merchandise planning or forecasting. Retail experience is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Complex data analysis, database management, solid knowledge of building report and analysis tools as well as ERP systems. PowerBI experience is a plus.
  • Other: having a European job experience in the Sporting Good/Outdoor industry is a plus.
