Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist in power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods. 

For our factory we are searching for a Quality Engineer for our feeder factories, driving product and process quality within the GIS organization by supporting and coaching the various functions with respect to product quality and quality process improvements.

Your responsibilities 

• Proactively measuring and analyzing data from production and field operation in order to early/pro-actively identify product quality issues 

• Improving product quality within as well as in collaboration with internal and external suppliers by supporting or leading issue resolution projects to rectify nonconformities (quality case management) 

• Drive development of Hitachi Energy Feeder Factories through regular audits, quality circles and inspect & expedite for critical customer projects 

• Foster adherence to and improvement of quality processes and coordinates sustainable improvements 

• Apply L6S methodology in the area of product & process quality and demonstrate their value to the organization 

• Ensure reporting of Q issues in SAP and CCRPs/DMAIC towards Feeder Factories 

• Perform / assist with troubleshooting tasks for quality issues in the production 

Your background 

• University degree, technician, or equivalent experience 

• Experience with use of preventive quality management techniques (FMEA, APQP, L6S, SPC, 8D)  

• Quality management expertise 

• Technical competence in GIS manufacturing and product design desired  

• L6S Green Belt is a plus 

• Fluent in English, German and other European languages considered an advantage
