Electronics Technician for Testing and Support
The position comprises following tasks:
• System and Sub-system testing, verification, validation
• Maintaining the required documentation (assembly logs, test reports etc.)
• Contribution to the instrument level ground support equipment
• Support for development of scripting languages software (basic Linux knowledge, Python...)
• Support for Electronics hardware development incl. support for prototyping
• Support for integration, EMC and environment tests as well as support for building of test interfaces (soldering, cable manufacturing)
• Management of Flight-Electronics components as well as maintenance of libraries, schematics and layouts (Altium)
• Handling of space instruments (according ESD standards and in a ISO 5 cleanroom environment)
As Electronics Technician or Bachelor degree of Engineering, this position requires experience in testing of electronics system and sub-system. Familiarity with the space environment and knowledge of the ECSS standards would be an advantage.
Good spoken and written knowledge of English is required. German would be an advantage.
The position is based on-site at the University of Bern, Sidlerstrasse 5, CH-3012 Bern, and is available starting soon, or upon negotiation, for an initial period of three years with the option of extension. Our salary range is determined in accordance with the personnel regulations of the Canton of Bern.
