Mercer Switzerland is seeking candidates for the following position that is part of our Retirement Services Team in Zurich or Geneva:

Actuarial Consultant (m/f/d)

We will count on you to:

  • Act as an experienced support to the lead consultants on recurring actuarial engagements such as
  • Managing local valuation and pension fund expertise for Swiss pension funds
  • Managing pension fund needs such as organization of rules and provisions, reserving regulations, corresponding with authorities
  • Leading international accounting projects of Swiss pension plans
  • Acting as contact person and relationship manager for our clients
  • Support special projects such as corporate reorganizations and M&A, performing of partial liquidations of pension funds, ALM or pension benchmarking studies, etc.
  • Collaborate with Mercer's internal support centers to check and analyse actuarial valuation results, including analysis of liabilities, assets and reporting
  • Participate on local and international projects

What you need to have:

  • Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, economics, finance or related field
  • 2-4 years of pensions actuarial consulting experience
  • Solid experience and knowledge with Swiss pension law (BVG/LPP), reporting under Swiss GAAP (FER 26), IFRS (IAS 19) and US GAAP (ASC 715) and an understanding of pension plan financing
  • Motivated to become a certified Swiss Pension Fund Expert – already being in the education is an advantage
  • Business fluent German and English is essential. French skills are desirable
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
