Project background
We are supported by the Wyss Zurich Translational Center (Wyss Zürich), a unique accelerator program, which is embedded into ETH Zürich and University of Zürich and addresses the booming fields of regenerative medicine, robotics, and medical devices/bionic technologies.
Job description
As Robotics Machine Learning Intern, you will occupy a pivotal role in the development and design of our future robotic systems. Your work will help to define the quality and features of our algorithms. Armed with your innovative spirit and project experience, you will manifest fresh ideas and novel approaches to the evolution of underwater robotic systems. Your affiliation with robotic software positions you as a key driver in the enhancement and advancement of robotic functionalities. You will work hand in hand with our R&D team, decisively pushing pioneering ideas and making them a reality.
Profile
Your contribution
In your role you are primarily responsible for the following tasks:
Designing and implementing higher-level algorithms on top of existing networks using sonar imaging
Testing, analyzing and proposing improvements of the networks and implementing them
Make pioneering algorithms for sonar perception ready for deployment and test them
To excel in this role as a ML-focused robotics engineer, you should possess:
Pursuing a master’s degree in data science, computer science, robotics, electrical or software engineering
Hands-on Experience with most robotic disciplines: Machine Learning, Perception, Localization
Collaborative Spirit: A team player who thrives in the fast-paced environment of a startup company.
Independence: The ability to work independently while delivering high-quality results.
Pragmatism: A pragmatic work attitude, capable of making practical, solution-oriented decisions.
A minimum internship period of 6 months is required
Bonus points
Applicants with the following qualifications or experience will receive bonus points:
Exhaustive track record in setting up software, operating systems, version control (e.g., GitHub), and design of robust project architectures.
Evidence of such holistic project management will be considered a strong asset.
