As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Project Lead External Manufacturing for a temporary assignment of 12 months, with high probability of extension.
Global External Manufacturing is the competence center for parts and products in the diagnostic workflow, manufactured by external suppliers. This includes the development of new products, product care activities, the assurance of supply as well as the supplier selection and maintenance in close collaboration with Procurement.
As a Project Lead in Global External Manufacturing, the candidate drives key projects for business value and patient benefit focused on the design and industrialization of consumables. The candidate creates an environment where the project team thrives, grows, and collaborates with purpose, enabling the delivery of high-quality, innovative products that ultimately benefit patients. In this role, the candidate, together with the project team, delivers new product design, designing and building up respective manufacturing lines at external manufacturing sites including the overview from raw material sources until final packaging. The Project Lead manages and communicates project progress towards stakeholders and balances scope, timelines, and budget. The candidate champions a culture of continuous improvement, working cross-functionally to deliver strong results.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Management of one or more product development projects
- Ensures delivery and definition of project deliveries including product requirements and specifications in alignment with internal and external stakeholders & suppliers
- Identification, mitigation, and impact analysis of project risks, issues and management of their mitigations
- Planning and controlling the project budget and resources
- Monitor the progress of the project against the project plan and ensure the timely delivery of work packages and their quality, also with external partners
- Leading and managing the project team within a matrix organization
- Strong collaboration with internal stakeholders & suppliers
Must-Haves
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Engineering, Natural Science, or related disciplines (PhD also acceptable)
- 5 years of relevant work experience in IVD product development and production engineering
- Knowledge of Process Management methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) and in-vitro diagnostic related regulations, such as ISO 13485, IVDR, FDA 21 CFR part 820 etc.
- Experience in external manufacturing collaborations
- Ability to think strategically and systemically, willingness to try new ideas and participate in changes
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to get things done with a proven track record of consensus building and conflict management in challenging situations
- Self-motivated, autonomous, structured, and goal-oriented mindset with a solution-oriented balance of short-term mitigation and long-term solution
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders by establishing credibility and building rapport
- Executive presence, performing well under pressure and decisiveness
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel (10-20% international)
