As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Product Owner (Mechanics/Fluidics) Instrumentation for a temporary assignment of three years, with the possibility of extension.
As the Product Owner (Mechanics/Fluidics) for Instrumentation, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and shaping the mechanical and fluidic development activities for Roche's next-generation healthcare system. You will act as the main interface to all connected areas, such as Operations, System Integration, and many more. Your focus will be on coordinating new development activities in Mechanics, Fluidics, and partially Electronics & Verification, ensuring clear reporting to all related functions and committees.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Development Backlog Management- Coordinate, manage, and monitor the mechanical/fluidics development backlog.
- Ensure that priorities and tasks are clearly understood within the team and aligned with connected squads (e.g., infrastructure, measurement technology, sensor mounting, and more).
- Accountable for maximizing the value of the mechanical/fluidics product development activities resulting from the work of the team (internally and externally).
- Proactively identify and enable tasks to be pursued actively.
- Maintain ownership in all phases of the development process: from feasibility studies through design, development, testing, bug fixing, design transfer, and maintenance.
- Serve as the Functional Squad Representative in the responsible project team. You will collaborate closely with the Development Lead (DL) to incorporate development activities into the technical roadmap.
- Product Strategy: Support and implement a long-term technical roadmap that aligns with the overall project and company strategy.
- Developing and communicating the goals: Set clear goals for what the squad should achieve and effectively communicate them to the team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Leverage system awareness and interpersonal intelligence to work closely with functional squads and teams across the company, such as operations, system integration, and product management. The goal is to design an optimal product in terms of quality, robustness, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
- Foster and ensure cross-team technical work practices and standards.
- Act as a recognized expert across organizational boundaries, driving solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Represent specific know-how and subject matter expertise to internal or external stakeholders.
Must-Haves
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or life sciences related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience in a highly regulated environment. Experience in MedTech is a significant plus
- Minimum 5 years as a Product Owner with several years of experience in an R&D leading function for new product development
- Proven experience as a collaborative leader who promotes and enables the self-organization of the team in regulated environments
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Broad experience and network to manage and evaluate external partners
- Demonstrated success working in multidisciplinary teams and regulated environments
- Ready to work in a fully agile and transparent environment
- The project language is English; listening and reading comprehension in German is a plus
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel
