Mission

Our recently launched EPFL AI Center focuses on advancing research, education and innovation in AI at EPFL and beyond. It is at the core of a vibrant EPFL community and dynamic external ecosystem that includes a large number of partners and stakeholders in AI, including academia, industry, government, and international organisations.

To supplement our team in the current launch phase, we seek a dynamic program manager with a can-do mindset. In this role, you will be in charge of the development of strategic initiatives in close coordination with our EPFL AI Center leadership.

Main duties and responsibilities

Reporting to our Executive Director, your mission will be to initiate, develop, and execute strategic initiatives in the EPFL AI Center, and manage the whole lifecycle of projects and programs including exit strategy, amplification, and impact measurement. In the course of this, you will interact with a large number of stakeholders in- and outside EPFL.

As part of the EPFL AI Center team, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Managing projects and programs end-to-end, coordinating broadly with EPFL researchers and local stakeholders;
  • Driving related engagement with large numbers of EPFL-internal and -external stakeholders from academia, industry, and politics (among others) at in-person or virtual events;
  • Developing and managing the broader program portfolio, including running Call for Proposals processes end-to-end;
  • Promoting the EPFL AI Center, managing our extensive partner network, and building our ecosystem in Switzerland and beyond.
Profile
  • Degree in science (Master or Doctorate) or entrepreneurship, demonstrating solid scientific expertise and in-depth understanding of entrepreneurial processes;
  • At least 3 years of of relevant experience, ideally in a start-up-like environment;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities;
  • Proven track record in project management including its underlying methodologies and techniques;
  • Expertise in field research, data analysis, and/or human-centric design;
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on goals and problem-solving, being proactive, managing uncertainty;
  • Desire to create wider impact through your work;
  • Familiarity with research and education sectors;
  • Abilities for personal interactions;
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills;
  • Proficiency in English and French.
