FIND(the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics), an international non-for-profit organization in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to R&D activities to expand and accelerate access to new diagnostics technologies, and to build global diagnostics testing capacity for poverty-related infectious diseases in low and middle income countries.
We are looking for a Partnership Director to join our team to support FIND’s efforts as co-convener of the ACT-Accelerator Diagnostic Partnership, an effort led by WHO and others to accelerate access to vital COVID tools.
ACT-Accelerator Diagnostic Partnership Director
The ACT-Accelerator, announced by the WHO Director General and world leaders on the 24th of April, seeks to raise $8bn across diagnostics, vaccines and treatment for the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These funds will be used to address gaps in the availability of vital COVID tools. The Diagnostics Partnership is jointly co-lead by FIND and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. It brings together partners to a shared agenda to ensure the right diagnostic test is available to all who need it by spurring innovation in new diagnostic tests and digital solutions, creating effective and efficient markets, ensuring supply and expanding capacity to deliver tests to communities.
The Partnership Director is central to driving the agenda of the Partnership, working in a dynamic and fast-moving environment to drive impact in COVID diagnostics. They will take ownership of strategy, stakeholder engagement and management of the overall Partnership, working in close collaboration with co-conveners and others.
Your primary responsibilities would be:
- Strategy and direction-setting for the Partnership
- Stakeholder engagement within the Partnership, with outside stakeholders and others across the Vaccine and Treatment Partnerships
- Thought leadership on solutions to address major barriers in the COVID diagnostics space
- Performance management of the Partnership and its seven Working Groups
- Managing the team responsible for supporting the Partnership
Education, knowledge, and skill requirements:
Core skills and experience include:
- Proven ability to operate within a complex and fast-moving space
- Results orientation, with a track record of delivering high profile initiatives
- Robust communication skills, with a track record of successful engagement with a broad range of stakeholders including industry, technical experts and civil society
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Understanding of the health sector and LMICs, ideally with experience of diagnostics/laboratories
- 10 years experience in project management with various stakeholders in global health.
Educational requirements are of an advanced degree in a related field such as medicine, public health, economics or development.
A background in management consulting with a top-tier consulting firm may be beneficial.
