As a Legal Officer, you will be part of the Legal Department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project analysis: Advise internal stakeholders on the legal aspects of the Bank’s projects, including innovative banking services and implementation of novel technologies, providing insights and risk assessments
  • Banking and corporate matters: Analyze banking and corporate legal issues, ensuring alignment with regulations
  • Contract drafting and negotiation: Draft and negotiate agreements with clients and partners
  • Legal disputes and litigation: Handle legal disputes and litigation matters, including addressing client claims, managing outside counsel and representing the Bank in court proceedings
  • Top Management Support: Offer legal guidance and contribute to reports to the Executive Management and Board of Directors

Qualifications
  • Education: Swiss law degree (membership to a bar and/or any additional qualification such as an LL.M or a CAS are considered as an asset)
  • Experience: Demonstrated expertise in corporate and banking law, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial services industry or related fields (e.g. reputable law firm or consulting company with a focus on financial services matters).
  • Languages: Perfect command of English and French, working knowledge of German (perfect command of German being an asset)
  • Skills
    • Affinity with innovation and blockchain technology; understanding of related legislation
    • Proficiency in assessing legal risks with a keen understanding of business implications
    • Strong written and communication skills across functions and stakeholders
    • Adept at collaborative teamwork while maintaining autonomy
