The Clinical Trials Center (CTC) at the University Hospital Zurich is the central competence centre for clinical research at USZ. We accompany and support study projects from academic and industrial research with the aim of ensuring the highest quality and safety standards – for participants, researchers and partners. As part of a university excellence centre, we work interdisciplinarily, are up to date with regulatory requirements and have a clear focus on scientific integrity.

Your Tasks

As Quality Manager of the Clinical Trials Center USZ you significantly contribute to ensuring quality standards and regulatory compliance in the field of clinical research. Your main tasks include:

Further development and evaluation of quality management systems as well as implementation of regulatory requirements
Planning, conducting and follow-up of internal audits
Identification of improvement potentials as well as coordination and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Consulting and supporting stakeholders in quality-related issues
Leading and participating in cross-departmental projects
Promoting a quality and compliance culture within the organisation
Collaboration with partners from industry, academic environment and public sector
Training and teaching researchers on GCP, quality management and regulatory requirements in clinical research

Your Profile

Education

Completed university degree in natural sciences, pharmacy, medicine or a related field
Alternatively, a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience in clinical research and quality management

Professional Qualifications

Sound knowledge of research and the Human Research Act
Good knowledge of organisational structures and processes in academic and industrial research environments
Sound knowledge of ICH-GCP as well as relevant quality management standards, especially ISO 9001 and ISO 14155
Experience with regulatory requirements of clinical research
Experience in pharmacovigilance and/or materiovigilance is an advantage
Completed auditor training or willingness to complete it

Professional Experience

Ideally at least three years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, drug development or clinical research, preferably with at least two years of experience in quality management
Experience in planning and conducting audits as well as in follow-up of measures
Knowledge in training or educating professionals, ideally in clinical research
