Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Construction Manager Cost & Tendering (80-100%) for the economic and organisational management of demanding building construction projects. You will accompany projects through the relevant SIA phases 31-53 and ensure that construction costs, tenders, awards, and deadlines are planned and controlled transparently. The focus is on cost management according to BKP/eBKP-H, the development of tendering and awarding strategies, as well as the economic assessment of project variants and change orders. The position forms a central interface between overall management, architecture, specialist planning, site management, and execution.
Responsibilities:
Determination, structuring, and ongoing monitoring of construction costs throughout the planning and execution phases
Establishment and maintenance of cost determinations, cost estimates, and cost forecasts according to BKP/eBKP-H
Cost support during planning as well as development and assessment of economic optimisation variants
Creation and review of specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documents
Development of tendering concepts, tendering strategies, and awarding schedules
Conducting and accompanying tenders, bid comparisons, awards, and award negotiations
Management and further development of construction accounting including target-actual comparisons and cost forecasts
Review and economic control of change orders, extra work, and project changes
Participation in scheduling, construction process planning, and site logistics
Support of project and overall management in variant decisions, cost risks, and change management
Coordination of cost- and execution-relevant interfaces between architecture, specialist planning, and site management
Ensuring comprehensible cost controlling and reporting for the project managers
Qualifications:
Construction-related education with further training as construction manager, site manager, foreman, construction economist, construction cost planner or comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in cost management, calculation, tendering, or awarding of building construction projects
Sound knowledge of SIA phases 31-53 and Swiss planning and construction processes
Very good knowledge of BKP and/or eBKP-H as well as structured construction cost determination
Experience with specifications, tenders, bid comparisons, and awards
Practical knowledge in construction accounting, change order management, and cost forecasts
Very good German language skills spoken and written
