Primary School Leadership Isaak Iselin

Tasks: As part of the three-person school leadership team, you lead the school within the framework of the directives of the public school management in the educational, organisational, personnel, administrative and financial areas and can count on a committed staff.

Leading the school: You are responsible for the collaboration between teachers and specialists, pupils, parents and the school board, for fulfilling the educational mandate and for the further development of school quality.

Responsibility: You bear responsibility for the operational management of the school, for personnel management and development of employees, for resource planning and the budget. The school leadership is also responsible for the day-care operation.

Experience: You have professional and leadership experience as well as a teaching qualification for public schools or an equivalent non-school pedagogical qualification, experience in project management and very good knowledge in the education sector.

Personality: A good sense for people, interconnected thinking, communication skills, resilience and a strong drive to shape things characterise you. Intensive work in a committed, cooperative team is natural to you and inspires you.

Education: A school leadership or management qualification or an equivalent non-school pedagogical qualification is desired.

The public schools sector of the Department of Education Basel-Stadt covers the entire compulsory school period, from kindergarten through primary school to secondary school. It is responsible for school operations and school care services outside of teaching hours. The sector advocates for an inclusive school where all children are accepted and supported according to their abilities.

The Primary Level Isaak Iselin is located in the heart of the Iselin district in Greater Basel-West. It includes 12 neighbourhood kindergartens, 29 primary school classes, 1 DaZ class and a day-care structure. The Primary Level Isaak Iselin maintains a very lively school culture. It sees itself as a learning and living space, which is reflected, for example, in high pupil participation, a strong sense of belonging and identification with the school, diverse events and strong networking with the school environment. In the coming years, a multi-year construction project is also planned.
